I have NEVER heard about not wearing purple.

Does anyone know if purple is a color that is only supposed to be worn during mourning in Jewish tradition

I've never heard that purple should be worn for mourning. Nor have I heard that it should not be worn other times other than tznius issues, some rabbis feel that it is too bright and therefore not tznius.
