I definitely understand my parents more now that I am a parent. We want so much to save our little ones..but we really can't all the time, not if they are to grow.

I was a horribly rebellious teen and I worry about how my kids might be like me...I will be paid back, probably.

::hugs:: on your struggles..

Oh, I can so identify. It's difficult to find that balance of holding them close but letting them go. Very well done.

What a great take on the topic. Well written. You seem like such a good mom.

Well I hope I am. I try to be. I'm definitely not a perfect mom though..

Neat stuff, I don't have any children but your difficulty in letting go seems to be a common experience among all the parents I know. It sounds like you have struck and excellent balance.

I hope so. They are young so lets see if I can keep it going:)

As a person without kids, I am curious..do you prefer Idol entries that are not about kids? I always wonder about that with the audience we have when I write my entries. It's ok either way, I've just been curious.

Beautiful entry. And yes, some of the best lessons of parenthood are very counterintuitive. I've lived many of those moments with my two little ones.

I'm glad you could find something you identify with, even if it is hard. How old are your kids right now?:) Do you have boys/girls/one of each?:)
