Deep in the ground

Hands unmarked by struggle

Stop the bullet,

Your name heads every news page

Within your face, we see our own prejudice.

I think we should remember it is both. This case speaks to our nation but it's also a very personal loss of two parents who loved a child.

Thanks for responding. You are the first to read it and I'm glad it did communicate (sometimes what I write doesn't say things clearly).

I keep waiting for something to happen about this, and nothing seems to. Perhaps it's because I'm far away and only get filtered news about it? It makes me sad and angry, mostly because it seems that all people are doing is talking about the race issue and nobody is talking about the guns. And I guess that is perhaps what makes me saddest of all - because that won't change, not anytime soon.
