*Sunday Night*

*is dancing in the kitchen and bobbing his head to the new AC/DC song he has playing on the radio, popping in some scones into the oven, wiggling his arse as he bends down. He takes off his mitts after closing the oven door, and then starts putting away some of the clean dishes from the dishwasher

*is sitting at the table near Molly, and is trying to concentrate on writing a letter to her friend Andy, but can't stay focused, and she bursts out laughing as she watches John, shaking her head slightly. As the doorbell rings, she gets a slight sense of foreboding and tries to go back to writing her letter*

*he throws a grin at her before opening the door without checking to see who it is first... the neighborhood is usually pretty nice, and he's also in a good mood so he didn't think of anything bad happening if he opened the door...*

*Kate is standing there, calmly, and with a small smile on her face*

~John. *she greets*

*John stops cold and stares at her* Um. Hi. Wasn't expecting you until later...

*Kate shrugs* ~Thought you might appreciate me coming a little early, since you did the favor of taking Molly again this weekend.

*John just keeps staring, slightly shocked*

~Aren't you going to invite me in?

Oh right, sorry... *moves away for her to come inside*

*stands up before he opens the door and picks up Molly from her high chair, holding her close. She's just as surprised as John to see Kate there, but she doesn't flinch, doesn't make to put Molly down or anything. Politely, if distantly, she gives Kate a small nod and says*

Hello Kate.

*Kate nods back* ~Liz. *she stares at Liz holding Molly* ~I see that Molly has taking a liking to you.

*John goes into the sitting room, shuts off the radio, and then begins to gather up Molly's things*

*Kate sits down on the chair by the kitchen table and waits patiently; she looks kind of ragged and worn, like she'd been having a bad day, and she kept her eyes on the room John was in, sometimes looking at him but usually staring at the floor in silence*

*Molly is letting Liz hold her, but looks as if she wants to go to Kate, a little conflicted .... then suddenly, Molly yells out* ~"Daddy!!"
