The "signing" was today. Went to the title company and scrawled my name and the date on several dozen sheets of paper. Tomorrow I get to cough up the rest of the down payment

The different people in this transaction seem to have different points of view on what is 'done'. - Real Estate agent: Offer accepted, job done, haven't talk to her much. - Loan Broker: Papers signed, job done. - Mortgage Company: Deposit in escrow, job done. - Seller: Found buyer, signed off, job done. - Buyer: Offer made, sign papers, contingencies met, sign more papers, seller out, make sure contingencies are met, keys in hand, job done.
I've noticed that really only the buyer is concerned about the contingencies as far as their completion. The seller and the agent are, but only so they can 'get the hell out of dodge

dumpsterboy's suspicions are legitimate, but I don't think he realizes how many hours in a weekday I spend on the phone with nearly all of the above people.
