I never trust theories until they're fulling shown to be true. Theories just represent a current state of societal knowledge, and to prove something from a theory, concisely and totally, such as the theory of relativity, is incredibly difficult. I mean, heck, we used to think the world was the center of the universe, and that was _true_...for that current state of knowledge, anyways.
