He's finished unpacking, and put his things away; Kaylee's already gone to sleep, and he's planning to do the same shortly.

First, though, he's going to go say goodnight to River.

She's stretched out in bed -- on her stomach, though, feet propped up against the wall and chin resting on her folded arms at the foot of the bed.

She ponders Simon's feet for a moment as the door slides open. Then she glances up, recognition sparking, and smiles a little up at him.

Quietly: "Hey, meimei."

He's smiling.

[river_meimei]

"You're back."

She knew this at least an hour ago.

She says it anyway.

[simon_doctor]

"That's right."

He comes to sit on the edge of the bed.

"How're you feeling?"
