Serenity has a cargo pickup scheduled on Hadrian in a week. They've been there before; Mal likes to get there well ahead of time, so as to be sure they set eyes on whoever's coming before they land. They'll be there for about a day

A figure in a hat steps out and starts to pad across the sand.

He shouts, "You're getting a sandstorm all over my vacation!"

Simon grins.

"You're taking a vacation on the beach," he calls back, "you should expect sand."

"I said sandstorm, genius." The straw hat looks very frayed, but shaped well, fedora-style; under it, Jordie's face is unnaturally pink. "If it got in the lunch, you don't get to complain."

[simon_doctor]

"Duly noted." Jordie's near enough by now that they don't need to raise their voices too much; Simon starts walking to close the distance between them.
