i remember the first time we met.it was the 19th of feburary 1978.at a club called 'the rocket'.i was in a local punk band called 'lockjaw' and we were the support act for your band 'easy cure'.after the gig you and lol introduced yourselves to us.you shook my hand and said hi to me.
after that night our bands played together a lot.me and you would get drunk and talk.we started to get on really well.i secretly wanted to shag you rotten.but i kept my mouth shut because i didnt know you felt the same way.
in 1979 you changed your bands name to 'the cure'.we were hanging around each other a lot at that point.your band got a bit more famous with the release of 'three imaginary boys'.
shortly after that you asked me to play bass on a side project for you.little did i know that you were trying to get me into the band at that time.i think michael knew.because he was always so rude to me.
then you came round to my place to let me listen to the 'seventeen seconds' demo.you started complaining about michael and how he wasn't right for the band...
it was then that you told me to be in the band
it was then that you told me that you needed me
it was then that you told me that you loved me
it was then that i told you the same
and with that,we got together.
