Well, the question is are you losing your job to "down-sizing" or are they just looking to force you out "with cause" to not have to worry about unemployment compensation or the UK equivalent thereof?

But, I would go so far as to say if you are looking up your rights on the internet...while at work, provided you do this at lunch/breaks "your time", the boss has very little to say about it. Most electronic policies stipulate/restrict use of the electronic resources for certain purposes/time periods, consistent with the nature of the job/location,so forth, what not.

Given that I'm not completely privy to the circumstances of your situation or UK law, I would absolutely advise you to know as much about your rights as possible. That's the first step in being able to have a place to work from and protect yourself accordingly.

Given no one knows my job (hence it being done by multiple ppl) and no one wants my job. I'm fairly well safe provided I operate within the scope of my authority.
