I agree--that is a WIN!
I'm glad the company is doing right by you.
Who the heck would care if the "base" isn't a color match with the mattresses--particularly since the mattresses are always going to be covered with sheets?
I've never heard of any brand of mattress having a weight limit before.
I'd just about be willing to bet you a dime that it's 300 pounds or less.
Manufacturers are such idiots these days.

It's not the mattress that has the weight limit, it's the divan base, or more specifically the mechanism which raises and lowers it.

We were told by the repair guy that it was not a manufacturing fault, but that we should not have been sold that bed as the salesman should have known about the weight limit.

The limit is 18 stone, or 252 lbs (114 kg).

And the bed is actually in two halves, effectively two singles bolted together, that go up and down individually. They are replacing Connie's half. I weigh less than 18 stone so my side is fine. But of course the two sides of the bed won't match!

That's the problem with everyone that manufactures stuff today: They want to make it "just good enough" and nothing over and above quality-wise.
