I definitely hear you, as a person who started following you way back when. The internet has gotten a lot less anonymous, what with Facebook existing/being connected to everything. The closest thing is Twitter, in terms of facilitating oversharing & being more anonymous than anything out there.
I do wonder how much having internet connections on phones has changed how we interact. And some of the reason we don't communicate in detail is because it's hard to type an entire entry on a phone? Also it's easier to check tweets, etc on a phone?
It has been really interesting to see how the internet and websites have changed over the last decade. It's very accelerated change.
5 years ago in Library school everyone was like, "no one will ever switch from books to reading online" and now there's the nook and kindle and ipad, etc. God knows what's going to happen in another 5 years.
