The Less Experiment: Worth in Strangetown

Aug 10, 2008 10:44

Well, I requested (sort of) to have a Worth Less of my own (from cindyanne1's Poverty Challenge family) to play with in Strangetown. Cindy is made of pure awesome, so she made him and Hope available for download ♥ Thus far the only Less from her game is Worth, and I had plans for him from the get-go.

First things first, and Worth got a teeny makeover:

Just a new 'do, nothing big. I had to leave him in the bowling shirt, though. It was an imperative! I love the Migamoo clothing way too much ♥

He also got a damned spiffy house from the Lots bin. I redecorated it a little bit, changed out the nice 'pretty' bricks with more worn-looking ones because I personally dig the worn look for brick houses. Makes 'em look more 'homey' to me.

Of course, some things don't change even with a transplant from one game/neighbourhood to another....

*sigh* But isn't he so adorable? I'm not gonna tell him he can't paint!

Not until his hunger bar starts dipping into the red, at least.

And I used his Family aspiration to get him to where he can make Grandma's Comfort Soup if he really wants to. (I also tend to cheat a bit with my transplanted sims and roll a die to get them some initial skill points upon arriving in the neighbourhood. He already had 5 cooking points because I'm just that nice.)

I had him make a group meal because that way, he can graze off leftovers for a bit later on. *insert evil laughter here*

And I had my first asylum escapee appear out of nowhere. Aisling Dale is just so super-pretty to me ♥ She and Worth get along rather well, but no sparks. He's into jobless raven-haired sims, but no vampires.

Also, Vidcund is rapidly becoming a mortal enemy. They just do not like one another. Who knew?

Just in case Worth missed out that he is, indeed, now living in Strangetown,

this gypsy arrived while the welcoming committee was still chilling in his house. Welcome to Strangetown, Worth!

So, anyway, Jenny and Vid eventually left and the men in white coats came for Aisling, and Worth's social bar starts dropping. So, I send him to the computer to chat.

The first person in the message queue is General Buzz, so I figure what harm could come from letting sweet little Worth talk to him for a while?

...

Okay. I stand corrected. Wow. The hate just transfers even through IMs.... Buzz has some seriously mad skillz, apparently.

However, I'm sure that's not what anyone's really reading this entry for, are they? You want to know if I arranged for an abduction.

You bet your ass I did.

This Worth is a Family/Knowledge sim rather than a Fortune/Family sim. I figured it was the best way to keep from having a manically depressed guy running around sobbing over the aliens for days on end.

He's also a science nut thanks to a little tweaking on my part, so he's loving this. Isn't he just too damned adorable?

I know I have the Higher Abduction Odds hack, but I had the poor guy at the 'scope for about six hours before this happened. I really do wish Free Time hadn't borked the Force Abductions cheat -_-

But the important thing is that, yes, my abduction went off without a hitch.

Upon his return, he was still all in the green and went to answer the phone since the ringing was starting to work my nerves. It was some random downtownie asking if he wanted to go hang out, so I thought I'd let him go have some fun before he starts looking like he swallowed a beach ball.

They all go to Lucky's Card Shack.

Where Worth endears himself to the ladies by joining them for a friendly game of Poker. Note that yes, Strangetown Bella is part of the group. Seriously, there was one other adult male in the group and three teenagers, only one of which was male. Apparently Downtownie Man was hoping to score with someone tonight.

If you look carefully in the background, you'll see that the asylum apparently keeps forgetting to lock the doors.

Yep, Galacticon Farquest arrived to serenade the room. Poorly. Maybe I should drop a karaoke machine onto the asylum lot....

Of course, since both Aisling and Galacticon have been out roaming, they may have made friends and thus have people to call them for chats during the day when I get back around to that lot... hmmmm....

Apparently Worth had such a good time after his abduction that he wants to go again. Maybe this time he'll meet a nice girl or guy who sort of reminds him of his older sister Hope to hook up with.

Insemination successful. There's gonna be another Baby Less in the future!

Not a whole lot really happened during the pregnancy. In fact, there are only about four pics between the first bout of morning sickness and birth.

At least he managed to keep himself entertained while on leave.

Even if it's at Vidcund's expense. Seriously, these two have a hate/hate relationship; I'm pretty much expecting that the first time they bump into one another on a community lot there's gonna be a fight.

Also, lots and lots of naps. Naps and eating on the leftover soup.

See, toldja I had a plan for all that Comfort Soup.

Also, Nervous Subject wandered by randomly one afternoon and I set them to chatting. Things went really well; they're almost at friendship level... and they're two-bolters.

Who wants me to try and find out what a Worth/Nervous kid looks like as my next Less Experiment?

On the day of the birth, the only other person around was the gardener. Poor Tristan was astonished, astonished I tell ya! Apparently this was the first time the dear girl was on one of her clients' properties when they went into labour....

But all went well, of course. Meet Care Less. (Yep, I stuck with Cindy's naming scheme ♥)

I have absolutely no concerns over how things will go for the family.

After all, Worth is an awesome daddy.

So, that's how things are going after one sim week for Worth Less in Strangetown. I'm still tempted to go to the Beaker lot, play Nervous a bit, and see about continuing the experiments by bringing him in to the Less home....

strangetown, less experiments
