We got home Sunday afternoon after spending 10 days in the Northeast. It's Monday (Labor Day) and I'm at work on my lunch break. Though I had to work today, the fact that we're getting paid double time and a half more than makes up for it. We are now the proud owners of a shiny new silver 2006 Toyota Matrix. Cross one more task off the list. After driving to Sacramento to sell the Jeep (which isn't 100 percent finalized yet), we went to a Toyota dealership a couple miles away and found exactly what we were looking for. The Beth Orton show a week ago and the Kelly Clarkson show this past Thursday marked the end of our summer concerts... two very cool but very different shows. Beth played the Fillmore (where we saw P!nk last month), which is a kick-ass venue all around. The place is tiny, and has a very relaxed atmosphere. I thought by leaving Florida I'd be escaping the heat. Boy, was I wrong! Actually this is just a heatwave... the second one we've had since the move. It broke 100 yesterday. The P!NK show at the Fillmore last night was by far one of the best live shows I've seen to date (aside from Alanis). Had never been a huge fan, but gained an appreciation for her vocals when I saw her at a radio show in Miami a few years back during the release of Missundaztood.
