uhh sounds like you're calling her ugly

i'm certainly not a poet, but the "beauty on the inside" message gets lost in the perceived insult.

At first I was like "OMG HE'S SAYING SHE'S SO UGLY THAT HE HAS TO LOSE HIS ABILITY TO SEE BEFORE SHE'S PRETTY!" but then I read the last part and I wanted to squeal because it was so cute.
