Pictures from Capitol Forest!
This is Mima Falls, a small waterfall along the first leg of our ride (and when I say 'we', I mean Katie and me).
Very pretty.
Again, pretty.
Mima Creek.
It was dark most of the day, but it looked like some of the leaves were producing their own light. I love that.
I liked this.
More of the falls.
Katie admiring the scenery while enjoying a light snack...
Yep.
Reminds me of parts of Whatcom Falls in Bellingham.
This was up above 2000 feet. We were literally riding in the clouds. Pretty crazy. You had to be there. I took a video that I'll have to share as soon as I figure out how to put it online.
My trusty steed (his name is Maverick).
Our achievement of the day. We started at 470 Feet and rode up to 2690 feet. It was really cold, but then we got 6 miles of amazing downhill.
Looking Southwest.
Sometimes the crazy zoom on my camera makes me feel like a sniper. That's a truck on a ridge off somewhere below us, and I was only zoomed in about halfway.
Looking East.
Powerbar? If you know what I mean...?
There was a small crowd waiting for us. They didn't have much to say, but they made their presence known.
A nice shot of Rainier.
Our parting view. Then we bombed some 20%-grade downhills and froze our butts off.
This has been a brief overview of our Capitol Forest adventure on Saturday. Thank you.
