I also dislike when that happens, which is why I tend to remove the tea bag before drinking (it probably helps that I add sugar, and it's much easier to stir it in if the tea bag is out of the way)
I'm glad to amuse! I did worry, of course, about readers misinterpreting and believing I was . . . duking out political disagreements with a Teabag Party member. ;-)

That's logical, and I follow that logic when I can. I like my tea pretty strong, though, and usually want the bag still steeping the whole time I have the cup, unless I'm in a situation where I'll be able to reuse the bag for a second cup. Also, sometimes even when I am going to reuse the bag, like when I'm at work, my mug lacks a saucer and I don't have anywhere else to store the bag before the refill, alas.
yeah, using a bag twice, and thus needing to store it before the 2nd use can be awkward at work. I tend to use Stash teas, and if you open the wrapper carefully along two sides one can use it as a catch-all, without too much leaking. of course, it's foil-lined, a plain paper wrapper wouldn't be at all effective
I've just realized, I should've added something to my original entry: Getting hit in the nose (or, heaven forbid, the eye!) with a tea ball is even less desirable/pleasant. Ha.
I'm not sure I've heard of Stash teas. We have so many -- oh, so many -- boxes and bags of tea at home already, though, I likely won't be looking to buy more anytime soon. And I do like being able to recycle when I have the plain paper wrappers, which I can't do with foil-lined and wax-coated wrappers.
Anyway, it's all a minor complaint, I suppose. ::shrugs::
