I love weeks like that. I recently had a small roadtrip to Half Moon Bay and it was amazing.
On the topic of heirloom tomatoes, I've been doing this breakfast dish this past week and it has been fantastic.
Take a bagel, slice it in half, and toast it. Sprinkle the bread with one or more of the following: fresh ground pepper, chopped basil, snipped chives, extra-virgin olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. Spread the bread with pesto, hummus, or baba ganouj (I use hummus). Slice a ripe heirloom tomato and lay the slices on the bread. Throw on a pinch of salt. If you're inclined, sprinkle with feta or parmesan (or your favorite) cheese. I also don't think you necessarily need to use heirloom tomatoes, but that's what I've been using so far. This sandwich paired with tea is a really great way to start a morning.
