i noticed something when i was with my dad for holidays...he doesnt know us at all! my brother and i were taken to pick out our own gifts and we both looked at each other like "wut the hell?" but then, we look at his girlfriend's kid's presents and notice that they are genuinely surprised to see what they have. and they arent just giftcards, like

aww that sucks, i'm sorry. he prolly just doesn't want to get you guys stuff you don't want.. are his girlfriend's kids younger? younger kids like anything so people just buy whatever.

no...that's the thing. he used to at least surprise us wiht our gifts by gettin gift cards...but this year he just had us pick out our own gifts...i thought it to be rather depressing. Laura's kids are our ages. Amanda is 10, like Dillon, and Matt is 16 going on 17. he's in the same grade and age bracket as me.
