Name: Hikari Minami
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Date of Birth: 2nd of September
Grade Average: B

History:
Hikari Minami was born prematurely and became completely blind after a week of living due to a birth defect. Thankfully, her parents were loving (and fairly wealthy) and learnt to adapt to suit her needs. She grew up to be an incredibly kind girl.

Thanks to the dictator’s lack of care to those with medical issues (that, and there was hardly enough blind people in Japan’s enormous population to form even a minor demographic), Hikari was forced to attend public school. It seemed difficult, but she found she really enjoyed it and formed a tight-knit group of friends who she got along with incredibly well. Hikari made an effort to never get into arguments and as such was respected by almost everyone.

Hikari also had her own assistant teacher (Ryoko Kadokawa) who specialized in helping students with special needs. Hikari is fluent in reading Braille, and enjoys reading translated French and American books (she can get away with it, too, because the covers are blank and in Braille, which few people can read).

Appearance:
Hikari is quite demure in appearance. Her smooth skin is slightly yellow, but tinged pink. Her best feature is her immaculate crystal-clear eyes. Although they are brown, they have a violet tinge and due to her blindness, are always staring into nothingness, giving them a celestial feel. Hikari’s complexion is further complimented by her straight, coral-colored hair which rests just above her waist.

Hikari likes to dress conservatively in pale colors. She finds it easiest to dress simple, so she never does much with her hair, nor does she experiment much with her outfits.

Blush and strawberry lip-gloss, however, are a must. >:D

Personality:
Reserved, modest and easygoing. Hikari has a very quiet, low-pitched voice, which makes her fairly easy to talk to. She dislikes gossiping, or bitching, and she hates confrontation. She just likes to keep to herself and quietly talk to the person next to her.

Hikari dislikes people treating her ‘specially’ because of her disability, but doesn’t complain.

- Demure: Hikari isn’t exactly shy, so to say; she just has a very laid-back and modest way of looking at things. She can quite easily talk to people, she just gives off a shy appearance because she doesn’t make an effort to speak with anyone, and she’s very quiet.
- Easy to Talk To: She can hold a conversation quite easily.
- No enemies: Her nature means that she never argues with anyone and as such, doesn’t have anyone who particularly hates her. There are people she doesn’t really like all that much, but Hikari believes that takes too much effort to ‘hate’ a person.
- Blind: Pretty self-explanatory, really. She’s going to have a difficult time in the program.
- Avoids Confrontation: Hikari hates fighting, nastiness and even, to an extent, gossiping. While she doesn’t voice these views openly, she makes an effort to stay out of any friction.

Overnight Bag:
Clothes and a toiletries bag. White cane. One or two novels.

Family:
- Kaya Minami: Works at a Nursery with children. Incredibly kind and loving woman.
- Aoi Minami: Once worked as an accountant for a major corporation, but when Hikari was born he quit his job and opened a small restaurant. Kaya and Hikari both work there from time to time.

- Ryoko Kadokawa: A nice woman hired by Hikari’s parents to assist her at school with her work and other chores. Ryoko is incredibly kind and gets along well with Hikari’s parents.

Extra-Curricular Activities:
Not having many options to choose from, Hikari decided to put her soothing, beautiful voice to use by joining the school choir.

Classroom Behavior:
Hikari does not have much interaction-time in class as she’s usually working alongside her specialist, who provides Hikari with unique work compared to the other students (worded differently; in Braille; sometimes different tasks altogether). However when she does, she’s usually fairly quiet.

Teacher's Comments:
“Hikari is a lovely, well-mannered girl. Despite her difficulties, she tackles each subject stoically and performs decently.”

Classroom Clique:
Nice-girls, nerds or misfits. Whichever comes easiest.
