It had come ot Ludwig's attention that a few days ago, it was Sindre's birthday. Since he knew Sindre well enough, Ludwig figured he might do his socially obligated duty and buy his tutor a birthday present.
After a few moments of thinking, Ludwig realized he really had no idea what would make a good gift. Sindre had a thing for magic, but Ludwig was wary about going to any store that sold anything to do with the stuff. (Not that he really knew where any of the stores were, anyway...) The man liked books, he supposed, but Ludwig had no clue what books the man had already read.
The best gift to give a person you don't know what to give is money... but that could be seen as thoughtless from a person who isn't blood-related...
Suddenly, a thought struck him.
Why not a gift card?
It was essentially money, but it still told the receiver that you knew something about them because they could only use the money in a certain place!
So, armed with a $30 gift card from a chain book store, Ludwig made his way to Sindre's apartment. Hopefully, it would go over well.
