No Evacuation Afterall

So we're not evacuating afterall. We're going to stick it out here. We're definitely expecting a power outage, so today mom and I going grocery shopping for unperishable food items that we can live off of (wow, that sounds pathetic, ha) during the time our power's out. I'm pretty sure we're gonna board our windows as well -- our front ones, anyway ( Read more... )

I was so scared, because I heard on the news that this hurricane was going to be bigger than Katrina. It's a relief to know that it's not as alarming as to having to evacuate, though. :)

Yeah, it's supposed to be at a category four right now, expected to go back up again to a category five, and the winds, from what I hear, are at 150 mph right now.

It's supposed to be the 3rd worst hurricane ever, and the WORST to hit Texas. But hey, I feel safe here, and I'm honestly not scared -- presently, anyway.

Dude, we don't have school today or tomorrow, either! =D

I'm hoping Lufkn isn't gonna get it that bad. We just got moved into this house. >>:;

It's supposed to come right over the top of Austin, though, where my sister lives and where we were SUPPOSED to go this weekend. o_o;

My dad's been in Virginia all week but luckily he's coming home a whole day early just in case the storm is really bad and he won't have to get stuck in evacueee trafic or the storm while coming back.

Actually, it just changed directions. Now Houston is supposed to get a direct hit, and Lufkin's it that chicks path.
