I bought a MacBook Pro. It's the sweetest machine and my life has reached unforeseen levels of quality because of it. I have to admit that my years of hatred towards Macs were based on lack of information about the newest updates of the OS and on past awful experiences in the TL computer lab. I can now customize to my heart's content

I guess your "years of hatred towards Macs" were indeed based on lack of information. Just the same as the present state of reaching "unforeseen levels of quality". :)

Well, duh. If I thought they sucked because I didn't know certain things about them, the fact that they turned out to be better than other laptops / what I expected of Macs was due to the lack of the same information.

Or are you saying that my appreciation of Macs now is due to not knowing much about them?

State of being surprized about sometihng (negatively or positively, Mac or PC) is an evidence of being not informed or misinformed. So, your amazement about Mac is just another sighn of not knownig much about it. Use it for a while. You'll find out that you are using Windows emulation more than native OS itself. :)
