favorite: hands down, under false pretenses. until then i’d just written a bunch of silly little fics that i didn’t think were much of anything and this was like the first reAL fic that i worked on and it was just?? so much fun???? i’d also wanted to write a proper baeksoo for awhile and fake-dating aus are forever a fave so honestly just overall it was a blast to write and i reread that fic a lot;;;; i love it a lot
the best: i think this is also under false pretenses. it seemed to have gotten the most response and personally i think it’s definitely the best thing i’ve written all year :3
most underpreciated by the universe: lol the drabbles
most fun to write: under false pretenses again lol but just to mention something different, i had a lot of fun writing love can be yours. i didn’t think i’d EVER write xiuhun honestly, but ig i’ve been converted lol and that prompt just stuck with me begging to be written and it was a good time. tho honestly overall, since everything i’ve done this year has been pretty much solely for me when i had the time….everything’s been fun to write in some way or other. i didn’t push myself to finish something if i couldn’t and i think that helped. my wc might be low, but at least i had fun.
sexiest: tossup between touch me like you do and slow dance tho personally i lean toward the former *__* the slow buildup in that is my fave and i love love lOVE writing on the body kink so yes that one is really great ;D
holy crap that’s wrong even for you: uhhh nothing idt?
fic that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: probably the chankaisoo soulmates au i’m still working on. this is a long project i started over the summer and it’s definitely something a little different bc i’ve never written a proper get-together ot3 like this before and also i’ve never written chansoo! the chankai part is pretty easy but the kyungsoo stuff, even if it’s not through his pov, has been more tough and trying to really learn how to write him in this situation has been a challenge but fun!
hardest to do: the chankaisoo definitely for a lot of the reasons i stated above, and just because i have SO many ideas for this but the buildup is taking much longer than expected. out of the fics posted, then probably slow dance bc that was 6k of porn when i hadn’t written porn in like four months lol
biggest disappoint: NOT FINISHING THE CHANKAISOO T_T_T_TTT i’m still so sad lol but i am glad im able to take my time with it and not rush through it just to be done. mostly i’m disappointed in my last of proper? fics? last year i wrote a lot of longer 15-45k fics and this year the longest (posted) fic was 10k. a lot of the fics i wrote this year were just silly oneshots so idk i feel most disappointment in not being able to create something really meaningful? i guess? and that my total wordcount cut in half from last year sigh
most telling: lol no idea

what pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you never would have predicted in january?: XIUHUN LOL i never shipped them as anything more than just a sort of cute broship but then i met jenn lol i’ve enjoyed them a lot more and it was fun writing a different ship i’d never considered before! also i never really expected to write luhan again so including him in the chankaisoo, the ot5 poly fic and then writing a full xiuhan was definitely unexpected. i’m glad i’ve been able to write him again though bc i’ve always enjoyed it :3
story with single sweetest moment?: the ending for you and i make paradise;;;;; and also imo kind of the entirety of slow dance despite it being all sex lol it was definitely very sweet bc like baekxing c’mon they’re the most affectionate
the story that made you cry?: idt i cried writing anything this year but there are one or two scenes that come close is in the chankaisoo sO I CAN’T TELL YOU sorry lmao
easiest story to write?: ahh pretty much all of the drabbles/shorter fics. i’ve been able to churn out some silly little things pretty easily this year which i appreciate despite having wanted to write more longer fics. i think i drained myself out with all the long shit from last year lmao. fics like touch me like you do, the taohun photographer/model au, thinking out loud and the december ficlets were all fun and easy i hope i can keep it up lol

did you take any writing risks this year? what did you learn from them?: nah i didn’t. like i said last year, most of my fics end up being challenging not a risk. i think i really need to learn how to take a risk in my writing bc i always fall back on the same everyday, slice-of-life domestic aus. the closest to a risk this year is probably the chankaisoo since it’s the longest, most involved fic i’ve been working on.
in regards to writing, what did you learn this year: tbh i feel like i didn’t learn much which is pretty sad. i’ve known this for awhile but like i said above, i tend to stick to writing domestic and slice-of-life aus and i really don’t take chances with my writing. i know there’s nothing wrong with that but idk i guess i feel very….limited and i wish i could get over my idk fear? of trying something new. when it comes to world-building and things like that, i tend to overthink it and end up feeling like “someone else could write this way better” which is discouraging so yeah....lol i think i really really need to work on this and try to do something different than usual.
do you have any fanfic goals for the new year?: lol my goal for last year was pretty much what i just said above: trying something new other than slice-of-life. so i definitely failed on that front welp. i also said to write xiulay, baekxing and sudo and i did write baekxing! \o/ my main goal this year is to finish the chankaisoo soulmates au sobs and also the fics for the two fests i signed up for; i really don’t want to drop out >.< and other than those things, again it’s the challenging a different kind of au, whether it’s fantasy, supernatural, or even just fucking abo, i really want to try something different, something i haven’t done before!
is there anything you guys would like to see me write? pairings, characters, aus? is there a drabble/fic verse i wrote you’d like to see more of? it’s easy to jump back into an existing au for when i just want to play around so let me know! :D :D
