Ok so I composed myself enough to write a review on this. So lovely and perfect and just exactly what they deserved. And he built her cabin; and he finished the job and then he went and joined her and it was beautiful. The imagery you provided here was just fab and the dark tone in the beginning just wonderfully segued into the lighter context of the end. Great job.

Hey, you did ask for it, missy. And I didn't even need a bottle of merlot to write it! Who knew?

You're still the only one who has caught the biblical allusions, you know. Although I wasn't particularly surprised, considering most people haven't studied it as much as we have. But hey, everything is more painful when you allude to ancient religious texts...

Incredibly beautiful and sad--even with the happy ending, what they go through to get there is just so wrenching, and it makes the ending that much sweeter. Kara and Lee here are perfect and written with such sympathy. Bill wanting to dig up Laura's grave and his self-destructive impulses ...so many chills there and so right for his grief. I loved being in Bill's head and heart like this, and you did it so masterfully :-)

I set out to write this hoping it would be a journey, so I'm glad that was accomplished. And god, I'm am so glad to hear that Kara and Lee worked. I... wanted them to be included, just because of the 'journey' element and I thought not talking about Bill's children would cheapen it, just because costs are so much a theme. Thank you!
