Well we could have kept him in the ocean, where he was originally scuba diving.

What a strange act, even for commoners, to think it's alright to scuba dive in a forest.

You see, the mermaids suddenly appeared and scared him and thus he ran into the forest!

But the forest was on fire! And then something TERRIBLE happened and his oxygen tank caught flame and exploded!

And now he's going to haunt that forest forever and ever and ever and ever! Aaaah!

But really he shouldn't have ran in the first place! The mermaids were friendly. They would have made him a necklace.
