Also, what malnpudi said plus keep it elevated above your heart as much as possible. Water runs downhill and so helps with the swelling. Did they put you on antibiotics?

No pills, just antibiotic ointment from the drugstore. I can open/close my fingers today, and a lot of the swelling is gone. The wound is getting pinker, but not in an infected way, so I'm mostly just trying to be careful until the stitches come out Friday.
