Because I've never seen it

So, as one Simpsons fan to another, is Family Guy worth watching, or an abomination unto all that is holy in Springfield?

I've never been a big fan of Family Guy, because the characters aren't three dimensional. They just feel like caricatures built to spout out one-liners. Yes it's funny, but I need more than funny to make me want to invest time in a show.

I still think simpsons is better. it actually has plot. family guy has every thing everyone's already mentioned. it's crude, sometimes the jokes run on for way too long.but every once in a while they hit you with something that you can't stop laughing about. but sometimes the show (or seth mcfarlane specifically) really pisses me off with the overly obvious political attacks on the religious and conservative. most of which are more irrelevent than their nonsequitor jokes.

Family Guy's humor is much more offensive, sometimes, and it usually has random references to things. And it has things you have to get used to, like the baby tries to take over the world, and "Brian", the dog is like a human.

I still like Simpsons better, though.

The first three seasons of Family Guy are really good. Everything since their resurrection sucks beyond belief.
