What could be better after watching the VP debate than writing an update?
The whole family was in shock - Belva finally found someone she liked. Never, not even in college, had she so much as gone on a date with another sim. Now Cale Nott had appeared seemingly out of nowhere to sweep her off her feet.
They were inseparable. Rochell, having sworn off men forever, found it sickening. Ian just said, "Good for her," whenever the subject came up. Anabel just smiled, but it was so hard to tell what was going on in her head these days.
Belva herself was just enjoying being silly about something for the first time in her life. The attention was nice, too - with a large family perpetually in crisis, she'd never stood out as special, she thought. Rochell was the genius, Ria was ambitious, Nevada was bold and loud, and Anabel had always been, well, Anabel. Belva just tried to stay out of everyone's way.
Cale, however, was doing a great job of bringing her out of her self-imposed life on the sidelines, little by little. They decided in fairly short order to get married and move out of the family homestead. Belva could hardly imagine her own home, with her own husband.
Right around the same time that Belva announced her engagement, Anabel announced her pregnancy, throwing the household into further uproar. Anabel didn't even have a regular boyfriend, much less a partner to raise a child with. She serenely claimed not to know or care who the father was.
No one quite knew what to do. Anabel didn't seem concerned, so everyone warily took their cue from her and treated the whole thing casually.
She certainly seemed fine...

Kissing in the rain, while romantic, can have unexpected consequences.
See? She really did make it this long without so much as kissing anyone.
Ian's only appearance in my pictures. Good work Mr. Chef. I love how he's just standing there admiring his handiwork.
Rochell is still alive, just working hard on her science career that finally came available.
