Prologue: The Big Move

Jan 11, 2010 18:55

I can't tell you how slow time seemed to pass while I was waiting for my birthday. All I did was go to school, work and collect things while my family seemed to drift around me. I just seemed to be someone in the background, forgotten as they moved forward in their own lives. Though I may sound it, I wasn't bitter. The less attention I drew to myself, the better in my opinion.

Bella was now the favored child so to speak. She was pregnant with the first Landgraab grandbaby.

Mother visited her friend Gunther Goth and bragged about how soon she would hear the pitter patter of little feet around the old family manor once more. She couldn't understand how this upset Mortimer so much, easily forgetting that Bella had been his choice for a bride long before Malcolm had stolen her.

Father continued working on his latest non-fiction title. I think this picture was taken as he worked on a bike guide. Shortly after this, he got the grand distinction of being an Illustrious Author. Mother was proud, even more so when his earnings increased. All she thought about was money, forgetting that the family was worth more then any other in town these days.

While spending the day at the spa, Bella went into labor. She hurried to the hospital.

By the time that Malcolm got the call from the hospital, the twins had come. He drove her home with the new bundles of joy.

With the arrival of Hector and Winston, Mother and Father found more time to not be around the house. It was left to me, and Bella to care for them. Malcolm was always at work or the gym, so I had to help as much as I could between homework and work. It was at this time my collecting efforts suffered a little.

I'm not exactly sure who's idea it was to have another child, but Bella and Malcolm found some alone time to start that matter.

It was during the family party thrown for the twins that Bella would learn that their effort had suceeded. That is Winston that Mother is holding.

Here is a better shot. Bella had set Hector down so she could rub her belly and let the world know that there would be another child soon. Both Malcolm and her wished for a little girl. It was at this same party that I finally became an adult.

The next day I shared the news with my Father. I was going to join the Sports field as Malcolm had. Then I would purchase that land near the waterfall, and move out to make room for any new babies that both Bella and Malcolm had.

He gave me a big hug and offered to give me some money to get started. I refused, and told him that if I was going to do this right, I would do it on my own. Though confused, he seemed proud of me.

Mother on the other hand was not as understanding.

We quarreled the whole evening. I told her that it was my right to run away if I wanted. I was now an adult and she no longer ruled my life.

I then told her that when I started a family, that I would not work all the time like she did. It was then that she told me to get out. I didn't even have time to say goodbye to Malcolm, Bella and the boys. I was banished.

The first thing I did was join the Sports field like I had told Father.

I then bought my own little piece of paradise. It took almost all of my funds, leaving me just enough to purchase a nice bed.

I then planted most of the seeds I carried around with me from my collecting days.

You may think I was embarrassed to go to the local gym to scrounge food, use the toilets and shower, but I wasn't. It made me proud to be free, free to be myself for the first time in a long time. Sure, I missed my family, but I was now my own man.

After a couple of days working, I called up Brie and asked her to meet me at the park where we had stolen kisses so much in high school.

I didn't waste any time in asking her to join me on my sparse land I now called home. She accepted with no hesitation at all.

We then exchanged rings and promised to share this new legacy we would create together. Through all the upcoming hard times we would work to build a home, and build a family with love.
This is my story, the Landgraab Legacy.
