I loved Santana in this fic. I've seen a few stories come out of 2x15 where Santana just runs to Kurt immediately and tells him EVERYTHING about the Brittana situation.. and all I can think is-she wouldn't do that. She just wouldn't. They aren't like that.

I love how you can totally tell she wants to say more every time they're together, but she holds back.

Well done. :)

I think her comment to Brittany about what happened to Kurt made it clear that there's no way Santana is outing herself any time in the near future, none at all - she has seen the consequences (she has been the consequences, for the love of god) and they were ugly. But she would want to get some reassurance, somehow, that it's going to be ok in the long term.

Hence, this fic. I'm glad you enjoyed it!! :)

I'm so glad you thought so! I was a bit freaked out by the ease with which Santana's lines wrote themselves, I confess :)

I like how you draw the Karofsky parallel with Santana. Everybody is so googly eyed over Santana because OMG she's only bitchy because she's in love and confused and scared. Like that excuses her constant bullying and belittling of everybody she sees, any more than it excuses Dave's behavior. And how everybody feels so bad because Brittany said she wanted to keep seeing Artie and loves him ... when she only started seeing Artie in the first place because Santana was a royal bitch to her. Santana can't expect Brittany to turn off her feelings and come running when she finally admits she wants her. Though I do think it's unfair for Brittany to push Santana to admit her feelings only to reject her in the end, but Brittany is borderline mentally challenged so it's not like she's really to blame for this mess.

Oh man, don't get me wrong, that scene destroyed me alongside everyone else, but I think it destroyed me precisely because Santana is a bitch, a really cruel one at that, and suddenly she's got a plausible vulnerable side. It doesn't excuse any of her actions before, but it explains them, and it's so goddamned poignant and it hurts, but it's also how life works. So yeah. I was gutted when Brittany turned her down, but every second of the episode that was about her and Santana was pitch-perfect. I can understand Brittany sticking with Artie, I just hope Santana isn't broken by this - this was a bit of an attempt at fixing things for her.
