You should probably know that, while this entire thing is really creepy and you did a fantastic job of setting up an atmosphere of maddening helplessness, the thing that tips it over the edge into utter horror is the fact that there's a choose-your-own-adventure ending. I'm still staring at the three links but can't bring myself to click.

Hahaha I'm sorry! I must say that when I first tossed off the idea while watching the episode it seemed like a lulzy joke more than anyhing else, but as I wrote it the creepiness of the situation mounted steadily until the point when I had successfully horrified myself too.

As for the epilogues, I promise one of them is happy-ish enough, one of them is somewhat ambiguous and one of them is just plain wrong. But I'm sure you can guess which one the last one is!

This was certainly a very interesting way to reflect on Kurt's season 3 behavior. I have to admit, I was expecting on-the-spaceship!Kurt to actually be an alien that had absorbed Kurt's memories and believed he was Kurt, watching actual Kurt do his thing on Earth, and therefore functioning to provide a Kurt perspective outside and removed from actual events on Kurt's behavior.

Thanks for commenting!

I confess, there was a paragraph in an earlier draft that was all about how Kurt wasn't even sure it was his body up there in the space ship, but I took it out because it was too horrifying; I preferred the old-fashioned alien abduction where they just take your body up. And besides, in hindsight, it is hilariously more meta when you think of Kurt watching himself do things on a screen and not really knowing where they're coming from. :) I didn't set out to write this as a meta story (it was born from a casual comment on my tumblr), but halfway there it became undeniable, and I decided to milk it for all it was worth.

This is flawless. It's pretty creepy and made me go /o\ D: at points (The night West Side Story opened had been the only one he'd cried himself to sleep. ), but flawless nonetheless.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I totally creeped myself out while writing it, so I'm perversely glad that came across, haha. :)

How bad is it that I lol'd at all of the endings? I'm a terrible person, or something.

Creepy and oh so plausible at this point. Wouldn't that be amazing if it suddenly turned out to be true?
