Aloha! I am finally here on the beautiful island of Maui staying at The Grand Wailea resort. I survived 6 hours on a plane! It turned out that the flight was 6 instead of 8 because it was a direct flight- yay for me! Even though my family was traveling with 5 children we managed to only have one spilled coke and one bout of tears. It was not so bad

I'm glad to hear you're not having a super terrible time on vacation. I know being with family can be difficult, I have a hard time hanging out with my mom for more than half an hour.
Just try to relax and enjoy, even if it means ignoring the background of family bickering and snotty in-laws.
I've never been to Hawaii, or anywhere off this continent for that matter, but I hear it's breathtakingly beautiful... take advantage of what it can offer.
