I agree with you on your whole point, but I wanted to give you a little unsolicited advice:

Don't worry so much about other people and what's going on in their lives. in fact, just focus on positive in general, because nothing bad can come of it. Plus, most of the time, those other people don't deserve your thoughts anyway.
