a few weeks ago, between the time i put it in my pocket at home and the time i got to work, the front screen on my 9300i shat itself quite dramatically. i am not sure what exactly was up there

Sorry the keyboard is so bad. I did what I could... It looks like the Droid 2 keyboard may actually be halfway decent.
I'm surprised draining the battery does anything to change the screen calibration. I really don't think there is any calibration to the screen that can be changed at all.
but there's no escape key. without an escape key, it's just macs. only since there's no control key, it would be mas.
the drain-the-battery bit made no sense to me, but it was on the internet so it must be true, right?
i think the keyboard bothers me so much because the 9300 has a really sweet 6-row keyboard, complete with escape key. i'll have to look into remapping some stuff.
and to be fair, i've found things about it that i like a lot. the screen is so so so much better than the nokia's, and it's way easier to find interesting software for the g1. (if anyone has suggestions for a decent sudoku app, please tell me.) i really like the way texts are presented as an ongoing conversation rather than as discrete unrelated things. it's lovely having gps (the 9300i didn't even do cell tower location stuff). i like being able to find programs for monitoring system status and the like.
if the battery weren't so ravenous, i'd probably forgive the rest of it. i see a novelty oversize battery pack in my future.
