why is driving myself to excell at everything at the cost of sanity and health so important? why can't I resign myself to being like everyone else, happily floating along in the stream of averageness? like those girls who get jobs and have hobbies and see their families on weekends? because the more I read about it, the more I realize I am truly an ( Read more... )

I've been reading and rereading "Do What You Are" and other Myers-Briggs typology ones. The world may belong to extraverts, but introvert thinkers/organizers tend to be good leaders. In a recent discussion with my INFJ friend, we agreed that most people in the world don't care that much about things. School in general fosters this drive for excellence when the real world doesn't really give a shit about how smart you are. And it's a slap in the face when you first realize it.

Crazy thing about black-haired Icelanders! I guess there's not that many of them to begin with, let alone not redheads. COOL.
