Star Trek: Picard: 1x08: Broken Pieces
I am glad we finally got the payoff on Why Romulans Hate AI even if it was a little weird -- sure, okay, I guess the notoriously xenophobic species is going to believe the records of some random ancient civilization that hated AI, and then in turn engineer an AI revolt that makes the Federation ban AI research. It's not the worst plot ever.
I did like all the Picard speeches -- he got a whole lot of good speechifying in on this one -- but my God, everyone on this show has a traumatic backstory so I guess it makes sense that this week was Rios' turn.
I just kind of wonder why they decided to make this the Trauma Show of Trauma and also Let's Have Thinky Thoughts About AI.
