"Here's the deal, DiNozzo: You obey my rules. You work hard and don't pull any shit. And we'll get along just fine."

"And what if I don't?" Tony asked. Not that he planned on screwing up, but he couldn't not ask.

His new boss glowered. "You will," he growled, full of conviction.

Tony blinked. He had never had anyone believe in him so completely; not his father, not Danny--before the betrayal, that is--not even Wendy. And Gibbs didn't even know him yet.

"I'm a Marine, DiNozzo. We never leave a man behind." He gave a quick half-smile. "I'm known to kick some serious ass though, fair warning."

Tony only nodded. This Navy Cop thing was going to be the hardest thing he'd ever do in his life, that much was certain...but he couldn't wait to get started.
