Gibbs had always known that there was something special about Tony. The man just had a way with people, managing to charm even the most hardened criminal by saying or doing just the right thing at the right time. It was uncanny. Gibbs was proud to have a gut he could depend on. Tony's instincts, however, and his brilliant leaps of logic sometimes put even his famous gut to shame.

Then, years later, Gibbs met Anthony "Call me Tony" DiNozzo Senior, a man who just happened to always be half a step ahead of Gibbs. He immediately saw the similarities--and differences--between father and son, but the innate charm and ability to wrap people around the little finger...well, Senior had it in abundance and wasn't afraid to use it. But there was something else, something more, and Gibbs finally realized what that was when he was locked in a battle of wills with Senior over Tony
