It was rather unfortunate that everyone happened to be dead on Kaito's birthday. A rather dead and ghostly Emmy happened by her apartment at that time, however, relatively grateful she still had the ability to read the note and hear the song for her.

Of course, it was times like that she regretted losing Kaito. He was such a sweet young man. Floating there at her doorstep, she simply wibbled to herself before tucking the note in her pocket, leaving the song on the step.

Through a sudden urge of will (whose, he couldn't say), Shinju's spirit managed to return to the City from the shreds left in his homunculus double, finding himself at the doorstep of his own apartment.

An oni... it suited him well, he thought as he listened to the song. Yes, it was very much like him... but he hadn't even been strong enough to keep the promise to stay away from his village maiden.

He read the note, saddened by the fact that Kaito still felt the need to apologize to him... Incorporeal tears threatened to form in his eyes when he read that the vocaloid still wanted to be friends.

"I don't deserve your forgiveness," he said to the air. "But if we could be friends... I would like that."

The note drifted back down to the ground as the young man's spirit faded away, a single tear staining it.

Although Kresnik was still in the hospital, someone (perhaps Luka?) picked up the sheet music and note for him and laid them on the table next to his bed. Although he was feeling a bit weak and empty (he wanted to hear that song again...), the soldier grabbed the note on the table and started reading it.

"...." Kaito is going to visit him...? Though his expression didn't change, deep down, he did appreciate the vocaloid's words.
