Let's see... where to begin..
Last summer, I was on one heck of a ride. I'm sorry I just noticed this post now. I just wanted to say that I had a similar experience of "good enough" on lithium and later on depakote. The mood-stuff anyway - where I was muted, less motivated, and on the depressed side but not actually depressed. I don't know if it will help you - but I thought I'd recommend trying abilify. That is all I take now and I love it. The only side effects I had were 1 - I can now burp (never could before and I'm not complaining) and 2 - akathesia (which sucks, but I took cogentin to counter it and eventually was able to come off of that without akathesia coming back).
Anyway, I hope this helps. I hope whatever you work out with your doctor is better than good enough - truly you deserve better!

My doctor says that abilify is not good for when you are actually in mania. He actually kept me on depakote for a 6 month period after an episode then weaned me off slowly and onto abilify over an additional 3 months. Just FYI. It was worth it for me (even the 30+ pounds I gained while on depakote), but I know what works for me won't work for everyone.
I am hear for you any time you want to chat here!
Take care,
