I have no appropriate icon, oh well. I saw The Hunger Games; here are some thoughts. Spoilery thoughts are under cuts.

I went into this movie with low expectations. I was really excited for it but also sort of dreading it, and I think ultimately that worked in my favour, because I had steeled myself to be disappointed and I was instead pleasantly ( Read more... )

Yeah, I am seriously considering going again on Monday just to figure out my emotions, lol. There was a lot to take in.

I did not notice that with Liam! Haha. I guess I wasn't really paying too much attention because I still reject the idea of him as Gale. I guess they just couldn't fit Madge in? I wish they had, though.

I was really pleasantly surprised too. And I caught a loooooooot of Career feelings in general. Like did you notice how Cato/Glimmer almost made out that one time? And how they were sleeping together underneath the tree before the Trackerjackers?

Come write at the ficathon if you're in the throes of Hunger Games fandom. I love your writing (obviously) and would love even more if some of that was directed towards all the unfulfilled Cato/Clove prompts.

SO many Careers feelings! I did not have this many feelings about them when I read the books, but gah. Feelings! (I thought that was Glimmer/Marvell. I think Marvell and Cato just look too similar, lol. All tall and blonde.)

I wish I had time to write fic! So many essays to write right now, but I'll probably write a few short things over the next couple days. I cannot resist. I hope you write some stuff, too!

I actually really like the way they did the ending for the movie, the book version was too awkward and clunky for me.

I purposefully didn't reread the books before seeing the movie, but I remember Katniss telling Peeta it was all for the cameras more...explicitly, maybe? I felt that it was toned down a bit in the movie.

I read the book after watching the movie, but I actually agree with most of your points. Before reading the book though, I couldn't for the life of me figure out why they cast Josh and Peeta and Liam as Gale and not the other way around. Then I read the book and went oh and I remembered Liam was Cyrus' bf and went yuck what the heck was I thinking.

A low point for me after reading the book was the fact that they left out the bread sent from district 11. Maybe I missed that in the movie or misread that, but I thought that was pretty important, even though the movie did have the salute and rebellion part.

ALSO YOU HAVE MADE ME A CATO/CLOVE SHIPPER.
