First it was losing Mr. Gygax, and then hearing that Terry Pratchett has Alzheimers http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/femail/article.html?in_article_id=539009&in_page_id=1879.

Oh man,I didn't know that Terry Pratchett has Alzheimers. What an awful thing to happen to a mind like his. That has to be one of the most awful things ever to happen to someone. I think I'd rather go fast than have to deal with that.

That sucks about Arthur C. Clark, but at least he lived a full life and died of old age (and didn't die in the middle of an epic series like Robert Jordan did).

Granted, I haven't read much of Terry Pratchet's work (just one book actually) but from everything I know about him he sounds like a genius in the league of Douglas Adams. Horrible to hear something like that.

As for Gary Gygax and Arthur C. Clarke I'm both well-versed in their material and am sad to see them passing. I just actually was talking to my mom about a week ago (right after Gygax's death) about how it seems like all our semi-modern cultural giants are suddenly dying off all at once.

She pointed out we're only going to see more of this as the baby boomer generation nears its end. :(
