That sucks about the romances. I was hoping that the smarmy vibe I was getting in the trailers was only for the dude!Shep. I had high hopes for them. I have to ask - which romance are you doing because there are three, plus the carryover with Kaiden, right?
Everything else looks awesome though. I'm actually okay with losing the inventory and micromanagement and going for a more flat out shooter feel.
I have to wait until Friday to buy the game though and I'm dying of excitement. Gah!
Kaidan's NOT an option. In fact...he...umm...nevermind...
So, I'm goin' for Garrus. Even though I wasn't one of the Garrus shippers after ME1, my poor Shep's feelin' all nostalgic for her lost crew, and he's the only one who *understands*. ...besides, I'm more than a little interested in finding out how they decide to work the biology of that... Also...the conversation with Mordan about the possibilities may just be the high point of the ENTIRE game....
I'm so depressed. I can't get the damn game to run on my computer. It looks like it's a bug because a bunch of people are bitching over on the bioboards about exactly the same thing.
I'm going to have to end up waiting for a patch. And I was so freaking excited too :(
Arg!! Fail!! I wonder if I managed to avoid the bug because I registered on that damn cerberus network a week earlier than everyone else.(I wasn't able to download any DLC 'til yesterday, tho.) I was trying so hard to get a full playthrough in time to write that review...but still haven't managed it.
RPG elements are stripped out, or scaled back. The born-again shooter gameplay was frustrating to begin with for an old hack like me, but eventually left me rejoicing in my own biotic badassery.

i cant do shooters, this makes me le sad :( ill still try it out, but im so not done with DA so at least i have something to fall back on.
No, no...I can't do shooters either...like...at all. I think I managed 15 minutes of Halo before giving up in utter dispair. Pause-n-play, mixed with the cover system makes ME2 manageable.
And Kaidan's not an option in ME2 because BioWare wanted to make sure that EACH AND EVERY SQUAD MEMBER could die during end game, (including Shepard), and they wanted to ensure that Kaidan/Ash/Liara would be around for ME3. Of course...this means that you could lose Garrus or Tali, too. *hugs them both protectively*
