On Saturday, I went out to lunch with Lucky and David to a Vietnamese/Thai place called Lam's in Newton. On the way there, they noted that a nearby Chinese restaurant was under new management, and perhaps was no longer completely terrible

There's a chinese place in Beverly that has a new name and an "under new management" sign up every six months or so, going back about twenty years. I think it's probably a traditional "crappy chinese place" scam to get folks to come back even though it still sucks.
