that's kind of every big school first semester. i didn't have any friends at uconn til sophomore year. and no friends that meant anything until spring semester last year. so keep your chin up, you'll find your group.
I understand, the transfer up to the main Storrs campus at UConn started out the same way for me this year. Plus I got dumped the 3rd week of school too, which made the loneliness feel even heavier. I know it sounds cliche, but I just threw myself into a bunch of campus activities and started hanging out with kids on my floor and in my classes. At first I had to be the one to be like: "Let's grab lunch..." but eventually things got better and I met a lot of people and the loneliness subsided. Just remember that it does take time to meet the right people, but you will meet them. My best advice is get involved as much as you can. Good luck! Love ya! =]
