I got a card and a package in the mail today. The card was from England, sent by my second-cousin, Ian. I haven't seen him in perhaps twenty years, but his grandmother and mine were sisters: Alice stayed in Birmingham, while Ann came to America back in the 1920s. We've been in touch via Facebook, so it was great to get a real card

While I am not surprised that you would do such a wonderful thing, it does make me very happy that you have been properly recognized for it.

It wasn't really much effort on my part, but people always expect the worst, so she was very grateful to get her phone back. And yes, it's amazing what you can find in the mud sometimes...possibly even a new friend. :-)

Given that the mail is usually a mix of bills, catalogs, and charity solicitations, it was a pretty cool couple of surprises!
