I have an 11 year old son and was in a similar situation.

I sat down with my son and explained the ins and outs of life as far as needing adult time to stay sane.

You should never feel guilty about wanting to date. When you find the right guy he will accept you for who you are and he will also accept your son. Just keep your son informed of the goings on so he doesn't feel left out or left behind.

Life can be hard but in time things get easier. The new aspect of dating will ease a bit and won't be so stressful.

Good luck.

Welcome back! I ended up combining households with another single parent from Church. It worked out great because I wasn't looking to 'date' as much as I was looking for 'partners in Awesome' Who Were also great Snugglers. We celebrated three Years of marriage last month. I found out pretty quickly that I definitely enjoy marriage, just not Marriage with The Wrong person. :)

Thank you! That is wonderful! I'm glad it has worked out for you. I hope things continue to go well for you. Did you have any trouble combining families? Just curious. I'm finding that the man I am dating has a different parenting style than I do.
