I just finished reading The Shack, which I enjoyed very thoroughly. It made me cry sometimes, which is always a good thing, I suppose

I loved "The Shack"! - like you said, it contained a lot of truths, and especially if you are dealing with any kind of significant life issue. Of course, it's just one person's perception, and some people reading it are taking it as gospel truth..... It's well worth the read though!
