I wonder...

Does it still count as "cosplay" if you're dressing up as an actual historical figure?

No worries. I know that you'll get to them eventually, and in the meantime, your smile in your icon there leaves me helpless to complain, even if I wanted to. &hearts

Good point! :D Well then, as per the icon, I'm really, really wanting to save up the money to cosplay Queen Victoria.

/is now a confirmed history nerd, like that wasn't totally obvious already

I read somewhere that cosplay is literally costume play so I think it works to play a historical person. I've thought about this a bit and I think the cosplay is similar to English fancy dress parties. At those people often dress up as favorite person or character. I say go for it, but then I'm a biased history loving college major ;) ;D

Hayley :D

I just need to figure out how much it's going to cost to get a Queen Victoria outfit together...

Here's another question, do Halloween outfits count as cosplay if you're dressing up as someone specific?

I think so.

I dressed as Mary Wallstonecraft for Halloween. I had to repeatedly explain who I was, and that no, she didn't write Frankenstein, her daughter did, Mary wrote A Vindication of the Rights of Women.

I think that was it, anyway. Brain blurry due to hangover.
